Village Leadership Academy offers an innovative, holistic approach to education grounded in praxis. We are currently seeking highly motivated and creative educators who value social justice, culturally responsive teaching, and student-centered approaches within the classroom.
We want to see our society become one where the principles of social, political, and economic equity are the reality. We envision a society where people from all communities are equipped to address the social, political, and economic issues that confront them. We believe that children’s education should reflect this vision. At VLA, we center community and value world histories and geographies, cultural empowerment and appreciation for cultural differences, the development of critical thinking and perspective taking skills, socially- just decision making, and academic vigor.
Strong candidates will have at least three to five years of teaching experience, curriculum writing capabilities, excellent subject expertise in indicated interest area(s), and a demonstrated commitment to self-reflection, growth, collaboration, and professionalism. Candidates should also be familiar with project-based learning, principles of restorative justice, liberatory education, youth participatory action research, and educational technology.
Thank you for your interest in joining the teaching staff of Village Leadership Academy. We are committed to preparing tomorrow’s world leaders today, and we hope you are too. Please see below for employment opportunities.
